Role of epigenetic mechanisms in striatum in neuronal encoding of decision-making during incubation of methamphetamine craving

Previous research shows a causal role for epigenetic mechanisms in drug craving in that overexpression of a particular enzyme (HDAC5) increases methamphetamine seeking after withdrawal. This project examines whether overexpression of HDAC5 also impacts reward-guided decision-making and associated neural correlates.
