Jude Cassidy is professor of Psychology at the University of Maryland at College Park, where she has been awarded designation as a University of Maryland Distinguished Scholar-Teacher. She also directs the Maryland Child and Family Development Laboratory. Dr. Cassidy serves as co-Editor of the journal Attachment and Human Development, and is the co-Editor, along with Phillip Shaver, of the Handbook of Attachment: Theory, Research, and Clinical Implications (Guilford Press, 2008). Shortly after receiving her Ph.D. from the University of Virginia, she received the Boyd R. McCandless Young Scientist Award from the American Psychological Association in 1991. She is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association. Her research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and the Krieger Fund.
