Lea Dougherty Receives APS Early Career Award
It is our great pleasure to announce that Lea Dougherty (PSYC, UMD Autism Consortium) has been selected as a 2013 recipient of the Association for Psychological Science (APS) Janet Taylor Spence Award for Transformative Early Career Contributions, in recognition of the significant impact that her work is already having in the field of psychological science.
The award was created in honor of Janet Taylor Spence to laud the creativity and innovative work of scientists who represent the future promise and potential of psychological science. As noted by Joseph E. Steinmetz, President of APS, in his award notification letter, this award “places [Dougherty] among the brightest minds in our field, setting an impressively high standard for the field in years to come.”
Dougherty’s award will be conferred during the Opening Ceremony of the upcoming 2013 APS Convention in Washington, DC, on May 23-26, 2013. Please join us in congratulating Lea Dougherty on this wonderful accomplishment and well-deserved award.
