NIMH Awards $2.2 million grant to Dr. Jack Blanchard to study social affiliation deficits in psychosis

Social impairment is a profound characteristic of psychotic disorders including schizophrenia.  A recently awarded NIMH grant will allow Dr. Blanchard to examine neural (using fMRI), cognitive, and behavioral correlates of social affilaitive deficits in individuals with a range of psychotic disorders.  Collaborators on this four year study include Dr. Luiz Pessoa, Dr. Melanie Bennett (School of Medicine), and Dr. Jim Coan (University of Virginia).
